Alternative music singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens effectively incorporates soft melodies with a mix of melancholic instrumentals in his new album, Javelin.

Stevens has skyrocketed in popularity after his popular release, “Fourth of July,” as well as his work on the 2017 Netflix film, Call Me by Your Name. Having started his career over 20 years ago, Stevens deserves much recognition for his artistry through music.

Stevens continually drops equally impressive songs with unique rhythms and sounds. The song “Goodbye Evergreen” has a nostalgic feel to it, reminiscent of experiencing a sunset in a childhood summer.

While still achieving the mellows sounds and instrumentals, he executes each sound in the album in their own unique way.

In “Everything That Rises,” there is a mix of angelic vocals as well as an ethereal ensemble of beats, while “My Red Little Fox” has breathtaking tunes that leave listeners with goosebumps.

Listening to the album is the equivalent to listening to an auditory masterpiece.

Overall, Javelin is one of the greatest pieces of music to emerge from this era and deserves all its followers.
