Let Me is nothing short of a bop

Zayn Malik’s solo single “Let Me” is nothing short of a bop. While fans can dance to the song, there is a lot that goes into it, both lyrically and musically.

Lyrically, most modern-day songs lack the meaning and depth some audiences search for. Malik hasn’t strayed too far from this trend, as most of his songs follow the catchy, repetitive, party music concept. Lyrics are often overlooked and not focused on. However, “Let Me” offers a more heartfelt message behind the words.

Malik wrote the song throughout his relationship with former girlfriend GiGi Hadid. The lyrics adress the thoughts that go into committing to someone forever. Malik passionately sings “I’ll take care of you. For the rest of my life, for the rest of yours.”

Since his solo career began, Malik has released songs such as “Pillowtalk,” “Dusk Till Dawn,” and “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever.” Most of his releases give an upbeat vibe that is hard not to like and jam out to in the car, even for people who are not huge fans.

The unique thing about “Let Me” is that it is catchy, all while highlighting Malik’s soft vocals. The song is extremely controlled as Malik switches from a gentle feeling to an upbeat feeling continuously throughout the course of the song.

Malik has the ability to contribute everything he possibly could into a song without making it overly chaotic and annoying.

With the combination of lyrics that provide depth and heartfelt meaning, plus the soft, yet upbeat music behind these lyrics, the song is very well executed and definitely worth the four minutes.
