Marie Ulven Ringheim, known as Girl in Red, is back after three years with a new album titled I’m Doing It Again Baby! and a slightly new sound.

The first song of the album, “I’m Back” has a slightly different sound than Ringheim usually has, with a piano in the background. It touches on her mental health and break from writing as well as her excitement for her new album.

The next song, “Doing It Again Baby,” is faster-paced compared to the indie themes from her past music. It also leans into country slightly, with the guitar plucking quietly behind the instrumental.

“You Need Me Now?” features Sabrina Carpenter’s iconic vocals. The lyrics ask an ex how they could want her help after breaking her heart. It’s another fast song, with a rushed drum beat following the rest of the instrumental.

I’m Doing It Again Baby differs from other Girl in Red music with quicker pacing, but sticks to themes of revival and romantic relationships.
