After an undefeated season, a WPIAL championship, and a first-round victory at states, the girls volleyball team deserves a hand.
Friday during eighth period, they will get one.
For the last 10 minutes of the school day on Friday, teachers and students will stand outside their classrooms to cheer and give high fives to volleyball team members, who will run through the halls to greet everyone. The event is a warm-up to the team’s second-round state playoff game against Seneca Valley on Saturday.
Principal Walter Graves said he wants the team to know they have the school’s support.
“This gives them the great recognition that they deserve. It’s good to have the whole school cheering them on to show support,” Graves said.
