Released in 2015, Chris Stapleton’s debut album, Traveller, set the tone for his career.

This album was not Stapleton’s first go-around, as he played guitar for artists like Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley. He also was the lead singer in a bluegrass band, the SteelDrivers.

His most famous song, “Tennessee Whiskey,”  appears on this album. This song showcases Stapleton’s iconic raspy voice.

As his new albums grow in popularity today, his listeners know he stays true to the basics that he established on this album. His recent albums are similar in the instruments and the meaning behind his songs.

His lyrics draw people into this side of country music because they all have a strong meaning behind them. In the song “Fire Away,”  he portrays pain and suffering in a way listeners can relate to. This song later won a CMA for the music video.

One of the most underrated songs on the album is “Nobody to Blame.” It is a breakup song that Stapleton performs in more of an upbeat way. He recently added this to a setlist for one of his concerts, which excited fans.

The track “Parachute” brings in instruments that create a Southern rock feeling, which adds more of an upbeat feeling for the album.

Overall, Stapleton is definitely a classic country music artist, and the album introduced his  sound to the world.
