`Winnie the Pooh’ horror sequel is unbearable

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 the disaster it was expected to be.
The first child’s show-turned-gorefest was dunked by critics. Nonetheless, it made enough money to make a sequel, which is just as terrible.
Starting off, it takes the events of the first movie and brushes them off as an in-universe film, which viewers see being watched by a child in the movie. So there’s a clean slate to start with.
Even with that opportunity, the movie is horrendous.
With such a silly premise – such as children’s cartoon characters killing people – making it work requires a level of self-awareness. But this movie, like the first one, takes itself way too seriously.
All of the kills are performed on nameless characters, so any emotional impact on the viewer is non-existent.
Also, the movie focuses on Pooh, Tigger, and Owl, who are obvious rip-offs of horror icons. Pooh is a silent killer like Michael Myers, Tigger is a comedy-fueled murderer like Freddy Krueger, and Owl is a calculated and intelligent leader like Pinhead.
If this movie had taken the path of being slapstick and goofy, it could have been an enjoyable slasher. But when it’s just tasteless gore with the shocking usage of characters from children’s stories, it’s boring and disappointing.
