After two big playoff wins, the Baldwin boys baseball team is preparing for its WPIAL semi-final game against Moon Township on Wednesday.
“As long as our pitching staff throws straight and our bats come around, we have a good chance of moving up,” senior Christian Hirt said.
The boys won their first round playoff game against North Hills on Friday, with a narrow win of 2-1.
They then won their second round game the next day against Plum, with a big victory of 14-4 in 5 innings.
These games have been led by a few standout members of the team, said Hirt, specifically mentioning Nick Bernick for pitching and Tom McCarthy and Morgan Schmidt for hitting.
Baldwin’s varsity baseball team hopes to take the energy from its16-2 regular season and two playoff wins into a dominating WPIAL playoff run.
