Following lots of positive feedback from students, the new Chicago-style pizza that the cafeteria tested on Thursday will be offered for sale in the cafeteria starting next Tuesday and Thursday.
The final tally on the new pizza was 445 “yes” votes and 10 “no” votes, according to Food Service Director Joyce Weber.
After the initial sales days Tuesday and Thursday next week, the pizza will be sold daily starting in two weeks.
A few weeks ago, students sampled another type of pizza with an equally positive reaction. That pizza will be sold starting in the second week of April.
Changes to the school menu are a result of the new Food Advisory Panel, which incorporates students and staff in the selection of new school foods. The goal is to find foods that appeal to the stomachs of students while complying with national guidelines for school lunches.
