Baldwin’s wrestling team picked up a big win on Wednesday night, defeating Belle Vernon 34-24.

Six Baldwin wrestlers won their matches: Jacob Pyle, Keith Mincin, Owen Klodowski, John Starusko, Cody Randal, and Justin Bochter.

Pyle, a freshman, said Mincin and Starusko were particularly impressive.

“Keith and John tried their hardest and won their matches,” Pyle said.

The Baldwin wrestling team has fewer wrestlers than some other schools, meaning they sometimes have to forfeit matches in certain weight classes. That makes Wednesday’s victory particularly sweet.

“This match taught us that we need to keep practicing harder,” Pyle said.

Baldwin’s wrestling team currently holds a 1-2 record. Their next match is against West Mifflin on Tuesday.
