Marching band and drama club students leave tonight to hit the Big Apple, with the marching band having the privilege of marching in the New York St. Patrick’s Day parade Monday morning.
The band members are excited, drum major Kalee George said.
“I think it will be a great time,” she said. “New York is a cool city. It will be just as good as marching in the Memorial Day parade in Washington, D.C., two years ago.”
The drama club is attending a Broadway workshop taught by a professional. They will have the opportunity to learn about music and choreography. The club will also get to see two Broadway productions, said Michelle Jenkins, drama club sponsor.
Both the marching band and the drama club will be back in Pittsburgh Tuesday night.
