Ten Baldwin artists earned awards in the recent Scholastic Art and Writing Competition.

Cheryl Foote’s students were excited to have their work judged in the regional competition. There were 1,730 pieces entered; Foote said the number of Baldwin students vary by year.“You never know year to year what to expect,” Foote said.

Dennis Doyle and Megan Harding placed gold. Dominique Cozza, Allyson Druga, Emily Jacobetz, and Katie Winter earned silver. Cozza received an honorable mention, for another work, along with Sammi Huffman, Syrina Nuemah, and Katie Winter.

All the pieces were entered into the drawing category, except for Nuemah’s piece, which was entered in printmaking.
