The telltale signs of the season are here: the first winter chill, rolling snowstorms, and the homemade gingerbread houses from Beth Fochtman’s advanced culinary arts class.
Students grouped into kitchens in the class were asked to bake and build a gingerbread house to be judged by students and teachers. The winner will be chosen before school lets out for Christmas break.
Fochtman said she was impressed with the work and creativity of the kitchens involved.
“I was really impressed with the work that went into them. It’s hard to choose just one because there is something on each one that I like,” Fochtman said.
The houses are located in a display case outside of the South Cafeteria and students may vote in room 227. The last day to vote is Wednesday, the 18th.
