The boys soccer team’s season came to an end on Saturday with a loss to Norwin.

On Monday night the MLS announced that Miami will become the league’s 24th team, and it will begin play in 2020.

Although this is not Miami’s first gig with an MLS team, supporters are hoping for more success this time. Miami’s earlier franchise only played three seasons before falling into bankruptcy.

The MLS is in expansion mode now, as it has added four teams in the past two years, including Miami, and plans to add up to four more, for a total of 28 teams.

Money talks in all sports, and in Miami, retired soccer star David Beckham has landed Sprint as an investor in his franchise.

With Beckham as the owner, most are expecting the MLS to grow and pick up more steam in its quest to become a big American attraction soon.

The MLS hopes Beckham will bring in big-time players and better reviews. As of now the biggest thing the MLS is missing is big-name talent as well as young talent.

Bringing in the talent they so desperately need is going to be an easier goal to accomplish through Beckham.

With the failure of the U.S. men’s soccer team to qualify for the World Cup, the high-profile Miami MLS franchise can give American soccer fans some excitement.

Although it will be two years until MLS soccer in Miami kicks off, the hopes are high for the whole world watching.
