The boys volleyball team fell to Peters Township 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The team lost the first match 25-23, but won the second, 25-21. They lost the next two matches, 25-15 and 25-14.

Junior Luke Scherz was unhappy with the loss.

“We just need more intensity. It only comes for a little, and we need it to be persistent,” Scherz said.

Scherz said he and seniors Peter Wright and Jeff Wallander played well.

“I had some good aces. We all did. We just need to figure out how to keep the motivation going,” Scherz said.

The team has one more regular season game this Thursday against Bethel Park. This is also the team’s senior recognition game.

In addition to Wright and Wallander, Dash Phuyel is the only other senior on the team. The seniors have been very influential for their younger teammates, Scherz said.

“I wish them all the best. Peter had a phenomenal year, so did Dash and Jeff. Jeff came back from taking a year off and still was a key factor in every game. They’ll definitely be missed.”

The team must defeat Bethel Park on Thursday to continue on to playoffs.
