Pope Francis has dropped the most righteous album of 2015. Some might even say, “This album is pretty dope, Francis!” Wake Up! sets Pope Francis’s uplifting prayers to pop and rock music. It is easy to listen to and incredibly calming. His sounds relate to pop culture music today while remaining soothing. Pope Francis’s voice put listeners in a type of trance that makes them unable to stop listening. Most songs, however, are in Italian, Portuguese, French or Vietnamese and consist of a lot of spoken word and a small amount of singing. The song “Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!” is the only song in English and is by far the best. It rocks out with upbeat lyrics and sound. This album goes above what is expected of a pope or other major religious figure. Most people would expect a Christmas album, but others may find this inspirational.
