The eighth season of Love Island USA premiered this week, with the islanders first playing a compatibility game involving three doors.
Host Ariana Madix asked questions, and the contestants chose a door based on their answers before learning who matched with them. Later, the girls selected the guy they wanted to couple up with by standing behind his door. If multiple girls chose the same guy, he had to decide between them.
The first couple, Trinity and Bryce, seemed unexpected. Their conversations felt awkward, and Trinity expressed concern about their seven-year age gap. Beatriz and Sean appeared more compatible, bonding over matching answers in the game, though Sean being a father gave Beatriz some hesitation.
Melanie and Sincere quickly emerged as the strongest couple, showing an immediate connection and similar personalities.
Kenzie and Zach’s pairing felt less balanced, with Kenzie appearing more interested than Zach, who admitted he typically prefers women with darker features. It was also revealed that Zach is the brother of Charlie from Season 7.
Aniya and KC also showed strong chemistry, despite not originally choosing each other. Aniya first pursued Sincere, but after he chose Melanie, she and KC coupled up.
The episode ended with the islanders deciding whether to stay loyal to their current couples or remain open to new connections. Bryce, Zach, Trinity, and Beatriz all chose to explore potential relationships with the season’s first bombshells, Kayda and Gabriel.
