Don Toliver performed at PPG Paints this past weekend to a sold-out crowd, which was a nice change from the last time he performed in Pittsburgh. Toliver has recently gained traction after the release of his latest album, Octane, and it shows in the ticket sale.
Any time Toliver goes on tour, he goes all out with stage design. For this occasion, the setup included a mock observatory, which resembled The Mount Wilson Observatory in California. This is due to the fact that Toliver recorded parts of his album at that specific location.
On the performance side of things, there was no shortage of hits. Toliver performed classics, such as “No Pole,” “Can’t Say,” and “You.” He made sure to play numbers from Octane as well, including songs like “E85” and “Body.”
Halfway through his set, Toliver moved on to an elevated platform that moved back and forth over the floor. Here, he played high-energy pieces, primarily “Gemstone” and “Tore Up.”
Overall, his time on stage was great. His performance did feel a bit short, but that was primarily due to how exciting it was.
His openers, Chase B, SoFaygo, and SahBabii did a phenomenal job getting the crowd ready for Toliver. They all matched the vibe of the entire concert well with their respective performances.
All and all, Toliver once again showed up and out for his fans. His concert was very memorable and offered a great time to new and old fans alike.
