Fast food is quick and easy, especially when people do not feel like spending a lot of money or time. Yet some of these restaurants are overrated, so people run the risk of wasting their time and money.
Here is a look at three fast-food restaurants that specialize in chicken but are not as good as some people say.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has fresh chicken, but it is bland. Their fries are usually cold and mostly unseasoned; if anything, they have a sprinkle of salt.
The toast is not terrible, but only one side is actually buttered and toasted. Of course, customers can ask for both sides to be buttered and toasted, but that is just an inconvenience. Raising Cane’s coleslaw also isn’t the worst, but many people do not even order it.
The best thing about Cane’s is their sauce. The sauce is what makes everything taste good because all the food is so extremely plain.
Another overrated fast-food place is Dave’s Hot Chicken. They have a far bigger menu than Cane’s, but their chicken still needs some work.
Their chicken is of good quality, and they serve rather large pieces of chicken. But their seasoning on the chicken is what’s off. It tastes like it is mostly just coated in paprika. The chicken does not have much flavor, and the coating has a powdery texture because it is just dunked in a lot of dry rub.
Dave’s sauce is just like Cane’s – they get most of their flavor from the sauce. Dave’s sauce is just a little less pungent than Cane’s and more of a mayo taste.
The fries here are also pretty bad. They are just normal crinkle-cut fries with the same seasoning they use for the chicken.
The last overrated fast food place is Chick-fil-A. Their sandwiches are pretty good. The buns are nice, and the chicken is good, but again, their sauces are the reason why people like them so much.
Chick-fil-A’s waffle fries are not good at all. Most of the time, they are either soggy or extra hard; there is rarely a time when they are actually good.
Chick-fil-A’s nuggets are also not that good. Most of the time, the breading is just falling off. The texture of the nuggets is also terrible.
