Season four of Invincible had a fast-paced plot and lots of action, while the finale set up many seasons to come.
The show is about a kid named Mark Grayson who finds out that his father, Nolan Grayson, is an alien from the planet Viltrum with superhuman powers. He learns that the planet he is from is an evil empire, and his father is trying to take over Earth.
The season started off a little slower, which Invincible is famous for. However, starting with episode four, the season really took off.
The fight scenes between the Viltrumites and the Coalition did not disappoint. They were very well done and fit the gory expectations the fans have.
The character development, especially for Nolan, was the best the show has done, and it did a great job at pulling the viewers in emotionally.
Every episode of the season ended in a cliffhanger, which built anticipation for the next moment. The cliffhanger for the final episode of the season set up many storylines that viewers may see played out in the future.
This season did away with the side characters for the most part, which has advantages and disadvantages.
Some didn’t hold much interest; however, some had amazing character arcs and felt refreshing. They gave depth to the show, and with fewer side characters, there is definitely more of a predictable plot.
Overall, the season is arguably the best so far and satisfies the fans’ craving for action.
