The biopic Michael shows how Michael Jackson grew up in the music industry, and then how he  wanted to break away from the Jackson 5 and his father to become a solo artist. 

Jackson, portrayed in the film by his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, is constantly in recording studios. Record label executives recognize his talent, and they know he could be so much bigger on his own. 

Jackson’s own father was the biggest problem he faced when trying to accomplish his dreams of being the best there ever was.

After creating a few independent albums, Jackson faces issues with his father, who wants him to go on tour with the Jackson 5. Even after Jackson goes through medical problems, his father only cares if he will be able to go on stage again.

Michael is an entertaining film that shows how Jackson became the King of Pop and got to be as big as he was. It features many exciting moments throughout his career, such as filming his “Thriller” short film and his videos getting on MTV.

Jaafar Jackson definitely sells the role of Michael Jackson. The look, voice, and dances were spot on, making the movie better because of the accuracy.

The film stops in the year 1988, before Jackson began facing child abuse allegations.
