The first three episodes of Invincible Season 4 do not disappoint.
The show historically has a slower start to seasons, which is definitely present in the first episode. However, episode two gives a long-awaited deep dive into Nolan’s backstory and is one of the better episodes of the show.
The fight scenes so far have been very well done and have fit the gory expectations the fans have.
Episode three is filled with the biggest issue of the series. Side characters with uninteresting stories get way too much screen time, which makes the show feel slow at times.
The animation feels cheaper at times compared to previous seasons, which is understandable since most of the budget goes to the more important scenes. There would be a larger budget if they cut down on A-list actors.
The ending of episode three leaves the viewers with a cliffhanger to get them excited for future interactions and storylines.
The character development is what makes this show so special. Mark is acting more like his dad at times, and his character is changing quickly.
So far, the season has been slow. But with one of the episodes clearly outperforming the rest and the opportunities for the story to progress, this season is showing a lot of potential. Episode four will be released on today.
