Harry Styles returns from his four-year break with Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, which brings fans fresh and upbeat music.
The majority of the songs on the album fit the synth-pop genre, which is new for Styles’ music. His previous releases only featured the rock and pop genres.
Although the instrumental elements are fresh and unique from song to song, many of the lyrics are repetitive. An example of this is “American Girls,” which repeats the lyrics “My friends are in love with American girls” many times.
Despite the majority of the songs being upbeat, “Coming Up Roses” and “Paint By Numbers” both offer a different, mellow sound.
“Coming Up Roses” features passionate string instruments, with about a quarter of the song featuring no vocals and only instruments. This adds some diversity to the album, which makes it more engaging to listen to.
Styles’ vocals are very similar to those on his previous album, Harry’s House, which brings fans a sense of familiarity.
Overall, the album is fun and fresh, though some areas are quite repetitive.
