Mercy is a science fiction thriller starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, set in a future where AI runs the legal system. In this world, people accused of serious crimes don’t go through normal trials; instead, an advanced AI judge decides their fate.

Chris Pratt plays Detective Chris Raven, a police officer who once supported using AI to judge criminals. But everything changes when he is suddenly accused of killing his wife, with only 90 minutes to prove his innocence before the judge makes its decision. 

Rebecca Ferguson plays the role of Judge Maddox, the AI system that doesn’t show emotion. As it unfolds, Chris has to not only prove his innocence but also question whether AI can really understand justice. 

The movie has a cool concept: The idea of a courtroom run by computers feels very modern and makes viewers think about how technology might affect the justice system in the future. The way the story moves in almost real time keeps things tense, and there are a few exciting moments as Chris tries to beat the clock. 

However, Mercy doesn’t completely live up to its idea. It feels confusing and doesn’t make strong points about its big theme, even though the topic of AI could have been powerful. Overall, Mercy has an interesting premise and a strong cast, but it doesn’t always deliver on its full potential. It’s a mix of exciting moments and ideas that don’t go deep enough, which makes it a movie that some people might enjoy, while others might find disappointing.
