Fifty-nine hours of previously unseen footage of Elvis Presley in concert was unearthed from a Warner Bros. vault in a Kansas salt mine. This footage was compiled into the new movie EPiC.
EPiC stands for Elvis Presley in Concert. The movie is a compilation of heart-wrenching scenes from Presley’s concerts and behind-the-scenes moments from 1970 to 1972.
In the movie, Presley explains how he added his own flair to the music he liked and turned it into a mix of rock, country, blues, and gospel.
The movie is narrated by Presley himself. This was made possible through the use of audio from a newly discovered interview.
The concert footage was originally recorded without audio. The production crew of the movie had to do extensive, long-term restoration and frame-by-frame sound synchronization to recreate the true experience.
The film features famous hits like “Suspicious Minds,” “Burning Love,” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” It also includes a unique moment where Presley briefly performs The Beatles’ “Get Back” while on stage.
The movie does a great job at portraying Presley’s dedication to music. It blends live performances with candid behind-the-scenes moments, showing Elvis’s interaction with his band.
The film also shows an interview of Presley elaborating on why he is so energetic on stage. He says he gets involved with the music and naturally moves around a lot.
The movie gives viewers a glimpse into the production of Presley’s concerts and a deeper insight into his daily life. It allows younger listeners to get the true experience of an Elvis Presley concert.
