Zach Bryan’s new album, With Heaven On Top, is getting a lot of attention, and it is very easy to see why.
With Heaven On Top consists of 25 songs – but Bryan has dropped an acoustic and a full-band version of each one.
Some people have been saying all of his songs sound the same, so he focused on making every song different and special. He does not miss with any of them.
The full-band version is better, though, because everyone in his band has been friends with for years, even before they started making music.
The songs on this album talk about love, heartbreak, and growing up. He explains that while he was growing up, he stayed very close to his roots, and he has never forgotten where he came from.
One of the best songs is “Plastic Cigarette,” which has a great beat. He sings about being stuck and lost in unhealthy patterns.
Another big one is “Say Why”, because of its nice rhythm. It is a song about heartbreak, and he wants her to explain why she is leaving.
This album is definitely up there with his better albums, like Great American Bar Scene and American Heartbreak.
The one thing that could improve this album would be if some other artists were on it to give a variety of voices. Other than that, this is a very good album, and it is worth listening to both the acoustic and the regular version.
