There are many unfortunate crises in the world, and people often don’t know how they can help. But a group of musicians recently came together to help contribute to the needs of people in Sudan and Palestine.
Singer and songwriter Mustafa the Poet brought the Artists for Aid benefit concert to Los Angeles in January.
This was the third annual Artists for Aid concert. The show provides funding and emergency relief to the Sudanese American Physicians Association and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
The hosts of the event were supermodel Bella Hadid and actor Pedro Pascal. Pop singer Shawn Mendes began his set with a prayer. He then played “Youth,” from his self-titled album, with Maggie Rodgers, then closed with “Stitches,” a global fan favorite with over 2.39 billion listens on streaming platforms.
Rex Orange County then played “Pluto Projecter” and finished by inviting Daniel Ceaser to sing “Rearrange My World,” a fan-favorite track.
Caesar then performed his acoustic set with the songs “Toronto 2014,” a remixed version of “Who Knows,” and the beloved song “Superpowers.” This was Ceasar’s third time taking part in the benefit concert, and he said that playing these concerts played a big role in his new album, Son of Spergy.
Clairo performed two well-liked songs, “Juna” and “Terrapin,” both have achieving spots on the Top 100 Billboard on TikTok. She closed her set by giving props to the organizer, Mustafa, and the benefit concert team.
Chappell Roan was joined on stage with Lucy Dacus, performing a cover of “The Book of Love” by Magnetic Fields. Other artists that performed were Ravyn Lenae, Omar Apollo, and Faye Webster.
Overall, the third Artists for Aid benefit concert raised $5.5 million and will be providing medical care and other much-needed resources to those in need in Palestine and Sudan.
With the many conflicts in the world, these celebrities have helped contribute to the needs of those displaced due to the wars.
