Madison Beer’s third album, Locket, is packed with emotional and fun beats. 

Beer has not released a new album since Silence Between Songs two years ago, though she did release four singles from the new album in advance.

In the lead single, “Make You Mine,” Beer describes being drawn to someone she cannot stop thinking about. It is one of the more upbeat songs on the album. 

In “Angel Wings,” Beer talks about her ex as being dead to her, so she can let him go. The melody is soft and dreamy, leaving listeners to reflect on themselves.  In “Complexity,” meanwhile, she sings about the struggle of loving someone who does not have self love. 

Beer is known for creating songs that are either dreamy, upbeat, or emotional, and she continues that pattern on this album. They are good, but sometimes get a bit repetitive. 

“For the Night” and “Angel Wings” are very similar in their dreamy and emotional tone. “Angel Wings” has catchy lyrics that can be repetitive at times. Overall, Locket is worth the wait and listen for fans of songs that are upbeat while still emotional.
