Fortnite released Chapter 7 Season 1 on Saturday in an attempt to revive its historic run on the gaming scene.
In this new season, players no longer get to the map via battle bus, but via a surfboard. To go with this, the lore of that game implies that the bus driver has passed away in a crash on the map.
In the recent live event, giant titans clashed with the players on the island to launch Chapter 7 and bring the game a whole new map. The event featured many characters that Fortnite previously collaborated with, including Godzilla, King Kong, and Iron Man.
The event brought the storyline back to “the seven” heroes and “Cube Civilization.”
The previous season included a massive collaboration with the show “The Simpsons,” which brought back many players and even past Fortnite streamers such as Ninja and Dr. Lupo.
This collaboration opened up opportunities for Fortnite to collaborate with other brands.
Recent leaked game files include a Ninjago crossover. This is projected to bring seven new skins: Zane, Kai, Cole, Jay, Nia, Lloyd, and Master Wu. This means they will also get their LEGO counterpart versions in the game and will have accessories with the game.
Fortnite has also had other historic crossovers through the years, including a Marvel season, a DC season, and Star Wars seasons.
The transition to the new season left some fans upset with the switch. People reported their games crashing before the event started, and the game was down for a few hours before the new season was even playable.
This left some of the returning fans questioning the game, as they feel Fortnite might have only had one good season and will go back to the boring old game that it was before. Others, though, say they feel there is a chance that Fortnite will go back to its prime, which ran from Chapter 1 Season 1 to Chapter 2 Season 2.
With the new season release, players are now able to drive reboot vans, fly around in wing suits, fight bosses and then transform into those bosses, and teleport anomalies.
Of course, with a new season, there’s also a new battle pass; however, some are disappointed with the skins included with the pass.
One new feature that is still questionable is that the gold bar does not stay between matches, meaning whatever gold a player collects in a game will not transfer to the next game. So if players earn enough gold to buy something to help them win a game, they should buy that item.
People are excited to try out some of the new weapons Fortnite has released and even some of the unvaulted items, which include the Iron Pump shotgun.
There was also an update to the movement in the game, so when a player is knocked down in duos, trios, or squads, then that player can roll down hills instead of crawling everywhere.
Overall, the new Fortnite season is still up for debate among fans. If the fans decide against it, then it could be the final nail in the coffin for Fortnite.
