Maroon 5 visited PPG Paints Arena on Friday for their Love is Like Tour, and the concert delivered to longtime fans of their music.
The members of the band took the stage about two hours after the doors opened, and performed for about two hours as well. Surprisingly, they played none of the new songs off of their newest album, Love is Like, but instead played through all of their hits and easily recognizable songs.
The band walked out to the Thin Lizzy song “The Boys Are Back in Town,” and it was a suiting theme that set the tone for a good night. The songs that particularly stood out during their performance were “Sunday Morning” as well as “Moves like Jagger,” primarily due to their impressive stage presence and a stage design that reflected the songs.
The stage, which consisted of a long walkway as well as a massive background screen, contributed greatly to their performance. Each song had specific theming that lit up the walkway as well as the background screen, and it was neat to see effort had been put into theming every little detail of the concert.
This was one of the most visually appealing concerts in recent memory. With every song, the arena was transformed into a completely different atmosphere, offering a unique experience.
The opener, Claire Rosinkranz, was a great pick to get the crowd ready for the show. She brought energy and effort into every song she performed, unlike other openers who may not be as expressive.
All and all, Maroon 5 put on a phenomenal show that was worth seeing. Each song was noteworthy, as they have had so many hits over the years. Their stage presence was felt and appreciated by the crowd.
