Kung Fu Panda 4 is an entertaining movie but has a weak plot compared to the previous films.

The movie is a continuation of the Kung Fu Panda movie series. However, where this film differs from the rest is that instead of another journey of Po as the dragon warrior, he instead tries to find his successor.

Unlike the first three movies, this one does not feature the Furious Five, which is upsetting considering how well loved those characters are. Instead, it focuses on Po facing his final enemy as the dragon warrior with the help of his new ally, Zhen.

The featured villain in this movie is a chameleon who has the ability to shapeshift into anyone. The villain had a lot of potential; however, that potential is underutilized for the purpose of plot and the character development of Zhen.

Despite the flaws of the plot, the animation itself is very well done. Also, the overall concept and comical aspects of the film are well thought out, and this makes the movie amusing to watch.

However, compared to the previous films, this one feels rushed. Fans may face disappointment with the ending because it does not live up to what would be expected from the battle between the dragon warrior and his final boss.

Aside from the weak plot and lack of character development, this film still remains entertaining and well done for a children’s movie. However, for die-hard Kung Fu Panda fans, this is a disappointing watch.
