Sabrina Carpenter appears to be the new “it girl” of pop music. 

Carpenter has recently been all over pop-lovers’ Tik Tok and Instagram feeds, and with good reason. Carpenter has been opening for the South American leg of Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” and has recently released a Christmas EP entitled Fruitcake.

Fruitcake is different from all the other cookie-cutter Christmas records because not only does it include a holiday version of her hit song “Nonsense,” but it is a pop album with normal lyrics featuring mentions of snow and presents. Fruitcake is more than just extra carols. 

Meanwhile, Carpenter has won the hearts of many during “The Eras Tour” for her custom-made, bedazzled dresses and signature choreography that has become a trend to recreate. 

Swift has been known to help new artists break through in the industry through her concerts. For example, Gracie Abrams has received more recognition than ever before since her features in Swift’s concerts. 

Ever since going viral for her incredible live vocals and stage presence, Carpenter has seen her song “Feather” being played on the radio nationwide as well as in the background for social media trends and videos. 

In addition to being loved for her fun and girly music, Carpenter has become a style icon. Fans have been recreating not only her tour looks, but also her casual street style and music video outfits. 

Before becoming a singer, Carpenter was an actress, earning lead roles on Disney’s Girl Meets World and Adventures in Babysitting. She has also sung in Sofia the First and How to Build a Better Boy. 

After her Disney career, Carpenter released her first album, Eyes WIde Open, and four more in the years afterward. However, she has not blown up in such a way before this year.

Followers are already anticipating a new album, hoping this one will get the recognition it deserves from the time of its initial release. 

Carpenter is now on the map, having become a new star of the music industry after her success in 2023.
