Christmas With Weezer, Weezer’s Christmas cover album, revamps holiday classics with a rock spin.

This hidden gem of an album features six traditional holiday songs, but completely reinvents their sounds. The songs, which are typically imagined being played over a staticky radio in a quiet, decorated house, are now filled with frontman Rivers Cuomo’s unique charisma and style.

“Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” especially stands out. While many people easily forget about the classic tune, Weezer is able to turn it into a modern pop-rock jam with lively vocals and instrumentals.

The high energy of the album is a great way to get into the holiday spirit, but the album itself is a great addition to Weezer’s discography, even outside of the winter months.

Christmas With Weezer masterfully generates fresh and upbeat sounds, reiterating the talent present in the band, and making this a genuinely enjoyable album.

In comparison to other alternative Christmas music, Christmas With Weezer stands out by conveying the festive energy trademark to the season, while still keeping the dorky dad-rock style the band is known for, all to magnificently create a work of art.
