CD Review: Daughtry- Baptized

5 Stars

Two years after the release of Breaking the Spell, Daughtry comes back with its fourth album, Baptized. Chris Daughtry, the lead singer of the band and a finalist on the fifth season of American Idol, presents a unique style in each song: some songs sound more country, while others present more of a pop-rock approach. The song “Battleships” has lyrics that make the song appear to be a typical sad breakup song, but it is far from a sappy breakup song. Although many people might refuse to listen to Daughtry because its music is on the radio, this album offers something for people who like all kinds of music. Chris Daughtry’s voice is one of the most unique in the music industry, and he uses it well. Most artists try too hard to make each of their songs sound different, and they end up sounding terrible, but in Daughtry’s new album, no songs are alike and they fit together perfectly.
