KDKA’s Bob Pompeani will be at Baldwin to present the Extra Effort award next week, which is given to an athlete based on academics, athletics, and community service. Many schools nominate an athlete, but Pompeani selects the winner and presents the award, Athletic Director Vince Sortino said.
Any athlete is eligible to win the award, not just an athlete from a particular seasonal sport.
The award and its winner will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 18 during the winter sports assembly. The segment will air on KDKA on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m.
