The Baldwin boys lacrosse team plays in the 3A division.

The boys lacrosse team lost to Hempfield Thursday night, 14-0.

Hempfield was able to get into space and make plays all game against the Highlanders.

“They controlled the ball for most of the game and took advantage of their fast breaks,” senior Aiden Gannon said.

Junior Anthony DiCesero said Hempfield was able to regularly find the open guy.

“It created a lot of scoring opportunities for them,” he said. “It was not only hard to stop, but we could not keep up on offense.”

He thinks the Highlanders need to work on their offense if they want to flip the script of the season.

“We need to work on passing and catching,” he said. “It put us in really bad spots when we couldn’t pass the ball around.”

The team also needs to work on pushing the ball and getting it out of their zone.

“We need to work on clearing the ball to the offensive zone, and our offense needs to control the ball better because we throw it away a lot,” Gannon said.

DiCesaro wants to end the year strong with a win against Seton La-Salle on May 1.

“We have high hopes for the Seton game,” he said. “We want to end it out strong.”

Before that, the Highlanders play at Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
