The girls cheer team over the weekend earned an invitation to nationals in Florida this February.
The team qualified last year and didn’t go because of funding, but plan to go this year.
The “Competition” team placed first in its division while the “Game Day” team placed second.
“Game Day was easy because it’s just what we do at the football games every Friday,” junior Kirsten Gingell said.
Junior Ashley Toth is a member of both Game Day and Competition teams.
“It was more nerve-wracking than hard. We had a lot on the line,” Toth said.
Toth and Gingell agree that the team gave their best effort and deserved the awards given and cannot wait to take on finals with their team.
