The softball team defeated West Mifflin 13-6 on Thursday for its fourth consecutive win
The Highlanders started a little slowly but then started hitting.
“It was slow at first, but we gained momentum later on,” junior Melina DeFelice said.
Junior Ava Bonacci said the Highlanders put together a solid effort, and DeFelice pitched a great game.
“She was doing amazing, and I think we played really well,” Bonacci said.
Seniors Kenzie Bowen and Reese Temme hit home runs for the Highlanders. The team as a whole played good defense, she said.
The team was just focused on one play at a time Bonacci said.
Bonacci also had a strong game as well, going four for five at the plate.
She said West Mifflin hit well and they were able to get the bases loaded multiple times.
Badwin has made the playoffs, and in the first round, they are facing Kiski High School on Tuesday.
“The team needs to stay positive and keep up with our confidence for the playoffs,” DeFelice said.
