The flag football team lost to Bethel Park 32-13 on Wednesday.
Senior Jacey Klingensmith complimented Bethel on their offensive play.
“They did well at getting open and catching it, and they were all fast so they had a good run,” Klingensmith said.
Despite the loss, Klingensmith believes the Highlanders still played well.
“I think we did pretty well. We were able to get good yardage but just didn’t always score off of it,” Klingensmith said.
Klingensmith shouted out junior quarterback Mena Monaghan.
“I think Mena, our quarterback, did well this game because her passes were on point and she didn’t fold under pressure,” Klingensmith said.
Freshman Nicole Gruntz complimented junior Carmen Jaquay on her contributions.
“Carmen stood out because she played really well and got one of our only touchdowns,” Gruntz said.
Gruntz thinks that the team has some room for improvement for their next game.
“I think we can improve on our footwork so we can get past the defense,” she said.
Overall, the team has played well together this year.
“I think it’s been a great season so far, especially that it’s our first season together,” Klingensmith said.
The team’s last game of the season is today at Woodland Hills.
