The Baldwin boys lacrosse team lost to Penn-Trafford 13-0 on Tuesday night.
Junior Owen McLuckie said that Penn-Trafford’s offense dominated the game.
“We barely got the ball on offense, so the defense was tired,” McLuckie said.
Since they are nearing the end of their season, the team is losing some steam, he said.
“We had no grit,” McLuckie said.
Senior Michael Schoeb said that after the game, the team worked through a few things that they can do better against these higher-level teams.
“We need to see the back door cuts sooner and shut them down,” Schoeb said, “and we need to play defense with the body more.”
Despite the loss, McLuckie credits the performance of the Highlanders’ defense.
“Our defense played their hardest,” McLuckie said. “They tried very hard.”
The team is looking forward to their next few games, Schoeb said.
“They’re going to be good games, as Avonworth and Thomas Jefferson are new teams,” Schoeb said.
The team’s next game is at home against Allderdice on Monday.
