The boys volleyball team remains undefeated in their section after defeating Mt. Lebanon 3-1 on Tuesday.
It was a difficult competition, sophomore Christian Jones said.
“This was definitely the hardest game of the section,” Jones said.
Junior Ayush Rai said the team did well with serves and controlling the ball. He said the Highlanders had a great amount of energy in the beginning.
“For sets one and two, we were pretty happy,” Rai said. “By set three, we died down a little bit, but we brought it back up by set four.”
Jones said the highlight of the match for Baldwin was their passing.
“Our receiving was very good in this game,” Jones said.
Jones said Lebo played with a lot of energy, but the Highlanders were able to deal with it.
“They were aggressive,” Jones said. “But they kept setting it to the same person, so it was really easy to counter.”
Junior Martino Suta played really well and got player of the game, Jones said.
“He had impeccable passing,” he said.
Rai said Suta kept the rest of the team calm while they were under pressure.
“If there was a ball in a spot really hard to reach, he’d be there, he’d pick it up, and then we’d just take it from there,” Rai said.
The next game will be against Canon-McMillan on Thursday.
