The Baldwin girls lacrosse team lost 21-5 to Penn-Trafford Tuesday night.
Sophomore Madelynn Murphy said Penn-Trafford dominated because of their stick skills and determination.
“They had really good stick skills,” Murphy said. “They also went for almost every ground ball and got the ball almost every time.”
Baldwin continues to struggle with opening up the field after their goalie makes a save, Murphy said.
“We could improve on transitions going down the field and getting open when our goalie clears,” Murphy said.
Despite the loss, seniors Ava Frantz and Lexi Iwaniuk played well defensively, Murphy said.
“They communicated a lot and had good slides for help,” she said.
The Highlanders’ goals were scored by senior Olivia O’Malley, with three goals, and sophomore Tessa Super, with two.
Super played a standout game, Murphy said.
“She had good draw controls and was able to score two goals on fast breaks,” Murphy said.
The team’s next game is 6 p.m. today against Upper Saint Clair.
