Baldwin’s indoor percussion and winter guard teams each took first place at TIA Championships at Mt. Lebanon on Saturday.
Indoor percussion team finished with a score of 84.2, and winter guard earned a 85.6, with both earning their highest scores of the season. Each came in first of three schools in their region.
Among the standout performers for Baldwin was junior Mara Recknagel, who was selected as a TIA Performer of the Week.
Freshman Steven Winschel, a guard member, applauded the guard’s efforts.
“Everyone caught their solo tosses. It looked really neat and everyone was together,” Winschel said.
Freshman Dylan Benestelli, a member of the indoor percussion team, was certainly happy with the performances of both the guard and percussion.
“We added as much as we could to make sure that it was the best show possible,” Benestelli said.
This TIA competition was the final one for the season for both teams.
