Baldwin’s unified track team took first place at a home meet against Canon-McMillan and Mount Pleasant on Wednesday.
Junior Nora Eckert said the team performed well overall, with strong efforts in multiple events. Eckert competed in the 800-meter run, shot put, and the 4×400 relay.
“In the 4×400 relay, Nathan (Davis), the final runner, passed multiple competitors,” Eckert said. “He passed multiple people because he’s so fast.”
John Shandor performed well in shot put, Eckert said. Din Goawala also got a personal record for his 400-meter run.
Before the meet began, Eckert, along with teammates Dom Meloni, Max Attenberger, and Davis, sang the national anthem.
Baldwin’s next meet will be the championship on May 19 at home.
