The Baldwin baseball team defeated Connellsville 5-0 on Monday.
Junior Logan Siefert acknowledges the Baldwin boys’ strong mentality during the game.
“We fought through team mental errors and came out on top,” Siefert said.
Siefert gave credit to the team’s pitchers, freshman Gavin Stock and junior Cooper Sturges, as they combined to shut out Connellsville.
Junior Tyler Geary said the team made good strategic choices.
“We manufactured runs well as a team and moved runners when we needed to,” he said.
Although the Highlanders played a good game, they still have room to improve for the next game.
“We need to work on becoming more successful while still being aggressive on the basepaths,” Siefert said.
Geary agreed.
“We need to fix our baserunning mistakes and create fewer outs on the bases,” he said.
Connellsville, meanwhile, played well defensively, making their plays in front of them, Geary said.
Baldwin will face Connellsville away at 4 p.m. today.
