The Baldwin flag football team shut out Monessen 12-0 on Wednesday.
Freshman Sara Kalikote said the team had a lot of confidence.
“We supported each other as the game went on, and we had a lot of confidence,” Kalikote said.
Kalikote complimented senior Lilly Schwarz on her strong defensive game.
“She pulled flags and got the ball down for the offense to score points,” Kalikote said.
Sophomore Layla Miller said senior Jacey Klingensmith and freshman Nicole Gruntz also stood out in the game. She said Klingensmith stood out with her two touchdowns, and Gruntz did well as the quarterback.
“She did a good job reading the field and predicting where everyone was going to be,” Miller said.
Miller said the team is getting better at working together, but there is still room for improvement
“We are getting better at the basics and being able to help each other out,” Miller said.
Baldwin’s next game is against Belle Vernon at home at 7 p.m. Friday.
