Baldwin’s girls and boys track teams competed in the TSTCA Outdoor Championship held at West Mifflin High School on Saturday, against schools such as Thomas Jefferson, Peters Township, and Pine-Richland.
Senior Anna Plunkett said junior Becca Gruntz stood out during the meet. Gruntz placed in all three of her events, earning second in high jump, fifth in long jump, and seventh in triple jump.
Sophomore Ali Shure said senior Vincent Broccoli stood out, as he placed second in shot put and seventh in javelin.
Broccoli also had to face tough opponents throughout the meet, Plunkett said.
“Vinny got second against a good opponent. That’s crazy good.” Plunkett said.
The boys 4×400 team also stood out to Plunkett, placing fifth.
Junior Jack Reichl performed well, placing tenth in the 800 meter run and PR’ing with a time of 2:01:39. Junior Logan Bresinger had a strong performance, placing tenth in the 300 meter hurdles.
Baldwin’s next matches are on Saturday, with juniors and seniors competing at Butler, and freshmen and sophomores competing at Seneca Valley.
