The Baldwin girls lacrosse team lost to Norwin on Monday night, 19-3.
Senior Taylor Hucic said Norwin won a lot of face offs and dominated the time of possession.
“Norwin did very well gaining possession off the draw, and I think that is what really killed us,” Hucic said.
Norwin also played a very good defensive game, she said.
“They also had a strong back check from their midfield,” Hucic said. “That made it very hard on us to drive and score.”
Hucic credited the effort of seniors Ava Frantz and Lexie Iwaniuk for Baldwin.
“Ava and Lexie’s defensive plays stood out,” Hucic said. “No matter what the score was, they were always giving their all.”
Senior Olivia O’Malley’s play was another highlight.
“Olivia played a really good game on offense, scoring three goals,” Hucic said. “She is really close to the 100 goal mark.”
The Highlanders will look to get back in the win column at home at 6 p.m. Wednesday vs. West Allegheny.
