The Baldwin softball team remains unbeaten in their section after defeating Connellsville 7-2 on Monday.
The win moved the team’s section record to 8-0.
The Highlanders had an overall great game, freshman Avery Lieu said..
“Our bats were very alive, and our pitching and fielding were good,” Lieu said.
Junior Ava Bonacci said Baldwin did well at staying consistent and helping each other stay up. She also said junior Melina DeFelice stood out with her pitching.
Bonacci said the Highlanders could improve on their intensity in the dugout.
“I think a big thing of ours is being loud in the dugout. Sometimes we get a little quiet on that end, so I feel that would be helpful in keeping the mood up,” Bonacci said.
Lieu credited Connellsville’s hitting toward the end of the game.
“They did good with their hitting. They got a couple of pokes and had good runs,” Lieu said.
Baldwin will play Thomas Jefferson at home at 5 p.m. today.
