The Baldwin flag football team lost to McKeesport on Friday, 20-12.
Freshman Nicole Gruntz said McKeesport had a strong offense.
“Their offense is really good. They were good at throwing and finding someone open,” Gruntz said.
The teams were tied until the fourth quarter, when McKeesport took the lead, Gruntz said.
Despite the loss, Gruntz believed the Highlanders did well coming up with interceptions and maintaining their energy.
Junior Adut Aciek had a big game for Baldwin.
“Our one touchdown came from Adut, who got an interception,” Gruntz said.
Senior Lilly Schwarz agreed that Aciek did well.
“She had at least three interceptions in the game,” Schwarz said.
Schwarz said the team is aiming to improve in the next game.
“We want to win today and hopefully come out strong,” Schwarz said.
The team’s next game is at home against Mt. Lebanon at 6 p.m. today.
