The Baldwin boys baseball team shut out McKeesport on Wednesday, 16-0.
Senior Tyler Dingus said the team was happy to come up with the big victory.
“The win gave the team a lot of confidence in section play,” Dingus said.
The team’s section record is 3-1 and their overall record is 5-2.
The team put up 16 runs, with many players picking up big hits and RBIs.
Both junior Aiden Robinson and Daniel Brown had key hits in the game. Robinson hit a triple late in the game, and Brown hit a double.
Sophomore Hudson McKain thought the team had an overall well rounded game. Both McKain and Dingus thought freshman Gavin Stock played a strong game.
“He had three hits and he pitched four scoreless innings,” McKain said.
Senior Luke Thompson, meanwhile, made his varsity debut and pitched well, striking out three.
The Highlanders face Gateway away at 4 p.m. Monday.
